Services

Swedish Massage...

uses gliding strokes, kneading and circular motions, with palms, fingers and knuckles to increase the body's circulation and induce a feeling of relaxation.  Swedish massage increases oxygen flow, helps rid the muscles and tissues of metabolic waste, and relaxes and soothes the nervous system, which helps reduce emotional and physical stress.

Deep Tissue Massage...

uses pressure deep enough to loosen, soften and lengthen tight muscles; decrease adhesions that limit movement and cause pain; and increase blood flow to promote healing. Pressure is adjusted for different areas of the body, and for individual clients. You never have to take more pressure than is comfortable for you.

Myofascial Release..

is a gentle technique used to release the fascia (connective tissue that surrounds all muscles, tendons, nerves, etc.) that may be adhered, or 'stuck', to the surrounding structures. Releasing fascial restrictions works to reduce pain by helping to naturally realign the body for better movement.

Neuromuscular Technique...

is a type of deep tissue massage used to address chronic pain, muscle spasms and limited movement of joints. Specific techniques like muscle elongation and stripping; gentle holds and stretches; and trigger point therapy are used to address muscle tension, spasms and restrictions. This helps increase muscle movement and joint range of motion and alleviate pain.

Trigger Point Therapy...

is a very focused treatment in which direct pressure is applied to a point in a muscle that is hyper-sensitive and causing pain.  Trigger points often produce chronic and/or referred pain which may not be alleviated by using other massage techniques.  Referred pain is felt in a part of the body away from the trigger point; for instance, headaches can be caused by trigger points in the neck and upper back muscles. Releasing trigger points helps to decrease pain.

My focus during a massage is to address your particular needs using the methods and level of dress that are most comfortable for you.
